1. Introduction

Welcome to 30 Dare Challenge (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, and with which third parties we share it — including our use of third-party artificial intelligence (AI) services.

By using 30 Dare Challenge you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information — email address, display name, and profile photo obtained through Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In
  • Onboarding quiz answers — your personal goals, preferred challenge focus, and available time per day
  • AI Coach conversations — the messages you type when chatting with the AI Coach to build and refine your 30-day plan
  • Challenge & task data — daily task completions, journal entries, streak history, and badge progress
  • Partnership data — accountability partner connections, check-in messages, and nudges
  • Device push-notification tokens — to deliver reminders and partner nudges to your device

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Basic app-usage data (screen views, feature interactions) via Firebase Analytics — collected in aggregate and anonymised
  • Crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs

We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, microphone or camera input, or any biometric data. We do not store raw payment card details — payments are handled entirely by Stripe (see Section 6).

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and challenge plan
  • To power the AI Coach — generating personalised 30-day activity plans based on your goals and quiz answers (see Section 5)
  • To send push notifications and reminders (you can opt out in your device settings at any time)
  • To show partner progress, streaks, and leaderboards (visible only to you and your confirmed partners)
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe
  • To improve app quality through aggregated, anonymised analytics
  • To respond to support requests

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, protected by Firebase Security Rules that restrict access to your own account and your confirmed accountability partners. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account — and all associated data — at any time from the Profile page in the app.

5. Third-Party AI Service — Google Gemini

The AI Coach feature uses Google Gemini (a large language model provided by Google LLC) to generate personalised 30-day challenge plans and hold coaching conversations with you.

What data is sent to Google Gemini:

  • The text messages you type in the AI Coach chat
  • Your onboarding quiz answers (goals, preferred time, challenge focus) if you choose to start from the quiz
  • The conversation history of the current AI Coach session, so the AI can give contextually relevant replies

What is NOT sent to Google Gemini:

  • Your name or email address
  • Your journal entries
  • Your task completion history or streak data
  • Any payment information

Messages are sent to Google’s Gemini API over an encrypted connection. Google may process and temporarily retain API inputs to provide the service and for safety monitoring. Google does not use API inputs to train its public models by default. For full details see Google’s Privacy Policy and the Gemini API Additional Terms.

Your permission: Before you send your first AI Coach message, the app displays a clear disclosure naming Google Gemini, explaining what data is sent, and asking for your acknowledgement. You can choose not to use the AI Coach at any time.

6. Payment Processing — Stripe

Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects and processes your payment card details directly; 30 Dare Challenge never sees or stores your raw card number, CVV, or billing address. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

7. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share information only in these circumstances:

  • Accountability partners — your streak count, completion rate, and earned badges are visible to partners you have confirmed in-app
  • Google Firebase & Google Gemini — as described in Sections 4 and 5. Google provides the same or equivalent data protection standards.
  • Stripe — payment processing only, as described in Section 6. Stripe provides the same or equivalent data protection standards.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public

No other third parties receive your personal data.

8. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access — request a copy of all data we hold by emailing support@30dare.com
  • Correction — update your display name and email via account settings
  • Deletion — permanently delete your account and all data from the Profile page
  • Data export — export your journal and progress from the Monthly Report page
  • Push notifications — opt out at any time in your device’s notification settings
  • AI Coach — you may decline the AI data disclosure and use the app without the AI Coach

9. Children’s Privacy

30 Dare Challenge is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us immediately at support@30dare.com if you believe a child has provided us data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice or email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
